Superintendent's Message
Dear Demarest Families,
I am thrilled to welcome you back to what promises to be another exceptional school year! I hope you and your family have had a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather and savor the last few days of summer.
As superintendent, my goal is to foster a school culture that thrives on collaboration among teachers, staff, students, parents, and the administration. This year, we will continue our strong emphasis on social and emotional learning, helping students build resilience, make responsible decisions, nurture healthy relationships, and develop empathy. Equally important, we remain dedicated to ensuring a safe learning environment for all students by working closely with our local police department to continually enhance our safety protocols.
I am also pleased to share some exciting updates regarding Demarest Middle School’s ongoing upgrades. We have made significant progress on the construction of the new gymnasium— the foundation is nearly complete, and we’ll soon begin erecting the exterior walls. Rest assured, we are committed to maintaining spaces for recess and physical education when school begins. Additionally, we have improved the walkways surrounding the school by upgrading the sidewalks along Northwood Avenue and behind the school, ensuring safer and more accessible routes for everyone.
We have some wonderful new additions to our highly talented staff as below. Please join me in welcoming them.
Jodi Braunstein - DMS Grade 5 Math
Kaylee Babasade - DMS Grade 6 Reading
Nicole D'Alessandro - DMS/LLE Social Worker/ERI Program
Isabella Liguori - LLE Grade 4

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. I look forward to an amazing year ahead filled with growth, learning, and success.
Sincerely,
Michael Fox
Superintendent
